Wat
Klong Thom Museum.
Because
this part of Thailand was once an important trade route between
the commercial centres of India and Southeast Asia, and the area
behind the temple is a major excavation site, there are some true
antiquities on display here like 5,000-year-old beads and old Roman
seals (one of which features Perseus holding up Medusa’s severed
head), as well as World War II firearms, stone tools, and southern-style
Buddhas hewn from wood. |
